I’ve been Catholic my whole life, but lately I feel like my faith is… thin. I still go to Mass most Sundays and I try to pray, but it feels dry and mechanical. I don’t feel close to God the way I used to, and sometimes I wonder if I’m just going through the motions because it’s what I’ve always done.
The last year has been stressful (family problems, work uncertainty, and a lot of anxiety). I’m not trying to be dramatic—nothing “scandalous”—but I’m tired, and when I’m tired my prayer life is the first thing that collapses. Then I feel guilty, which makes me avoid prayer even more.
If you’ve been through a season where faith feels weak, what actually helped you persevere? Like, what do you do on a normal Tuesday when you feel empty? Any Scripture, saints, devotions, or practical routines that helped you keep going without pretending?
